Welcome
The Office of Contract Management (OCM) is a department of the Wayne State University Procurement and Strategic Sourcing Business Management Division, and is a University resource that provides contract related administrative services. At this time, the OCM services are limited to supporting the units within the Office of Health Affairs (College of Nursing, College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences, School of Medicine, School of Social Work).
The OCM provides many services intended to ensure that contracts entered into on behalf of the University comply with applicable University policy and federal and state laws and regulations. In particular, the OCM assists in all of the following:
- Developing and maintaining standard contract forms and templates, as approved by the OGC;
- Reviewing and negotiating the business terms of agreements;
- Facilitating the contract negotiation and development process;
- Storing and providing access to contracts in WSU's contract repository;
- Providing training related to contracts and the contracting process; and
- Assisting in the resolution of contract related disputes.
The OCM web site provides convenient access to forms, FAQ, contact information for the OCM, and other important information. If you have specific questions or comments, please contact OCM Staff.
It is important to note that there are certain functions that the OCM does not perform:
- Procurement Related Contracts: The OCM does not process contracts for the procurement of goods, materials and/or supplies that are processed according to the University's normal Procurement and Strategic Sourcing processes, including the submission of requisitions and issuance of purchase orders.
- Sponsored Projects: The OCM does not process grant subcontracts that are handled by Sponsored Research Administration (SPA).
- Legal Approval: The OCM does not provide final legal approval of any contract; that function lies exclusively with the University's Office of the General Counsel.
